THE CHALLENGE
A Learning Skills Project
Various venues across London, 12-14 July 2010
THE CHALLENGE was a two-month programme divided in three parts, which aims to 'inspire a generation of young people to lead social change’. Dende Collective was one the organisations selected to deliver the second part of the programme called Team Challenge. This was a three-day project where each day the young 15 to16 year olds were learning new skills in the morning and then serving their community in the afternoon. The project culminated in a Festival where all the teams working that summer gathered together to showcase their new acquired skills.
The young people learned how to make puppets, tell stories and make a show using them. They applied these skills delivering their own workshop delivered at an elderly day centre in Hammersmith, a primary school in Berdmonsey and by presenting a 15/20-minute show at a larger evening community event in West London.
