Dende Education Projects

Dende believes that art can inspire transformation. Theatre practice instigates respect for others and oneself. Through our educational projects, we offer opportunities to work as a collective and most importantly nurture creativity and collaboration, two of the most powerful tools in coping with adversity. We also believe that through our educational work Dende Collective can learn and explore real questions that are directly connected with the making of our shows.

Dende has developed work with a varied range of partners - venues' youth theatre groups, primary, secondary schools and community groups. A diverse range of skills and thought-provoking experiences has evolved through an exchange between artists and young people and members of diverse communities.

Dende often creates workshops and educational work attached and inspired by our theatre shows, producing in the process an Educational Pack that can be downloaded from our website as a resource for teachers and students.

Dende Collective members run a series of education activities in schools, art centres and community projects. Some of the themes vary from masks, puppetry, storytelling, Brazilian culture, citizenship, radio drama, multi media, etc. Contact us if you would like to know more.
