An Intergenerational Project for Ages 18+ and 60+ (all are welcome if 18+). The hit project from 2023 is back, and it's bigger and better!
This August, join Dende Collective at the Penfold Community Hub for a fun and creative mask-making adventure. You'll get to make your own papier-mâché mask, create a costume for your character, and learn how to bring your mask to life. Plus, you'll have the chance to explore masks from different cultures and perform in exciting local shows.
The classes are FREE, including all materials, and no previous experience is needed. Spaces are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Join anytime!
Mask Making: 5 - 16 Aug (4 to 5 sessions for 1 mask) - 1 pm - 4:30 pm Costume Making & Mask Acting: 19 - 31 August - 1 pm - 4:30 pm Performance: 27, 29 at 3 pm and 31 August at 1:30 pm around Church Street

Meet Your Facilitators:
André Pink
Mask Specialist and Artistic Director of Dende Collective
André Pink is the Artistic Director of Dendê Collective. He trained with master clown teacher Philippe Gaulier and regularly teaches clowning at drama schools across the UK. With over 20 years’ experience in theatre and community arts, André’s passion is creating inclusive, playful spaces where everyone can find their creative voice.
Caroline Jones
Designer
Caroline Jones is a theatre designer and creative facilitator known for her vibrant, imaginative costume and set designs. She has previously worked with Dende Collective on projects like Cinderella, Masquerade, and Fruits R Us, bringing her expertise in visual storytelling to help participants create bold, joyful characters.
