Enter the world of the Club Piranha at your own risk and encounter bandidos, prostitutas, dictadores, and all the characters that inhabit this magical space. Let the famous storyteller Eva Luna guide you through the stories, lives, loves and sometimes deaths in this little part of South America.

Club Piranha is a new play loosely based on the novel Stories of Eva Luna by the Chilean writer Isabel Allende, devised by Dende Collective in collaboration with the CYAC.
The result of Dende's one month residency at Contact Theatre in April 2006 was a cabaret styled piece loosely inspired by the short tales of Allende's novel. CLUB PIRANHA fittingly married Dende’s Educational and Artistic ethos. While working with young people we devised and produced a professional show that became a sold out success during the whole run and CYAC was the perfect company to rise to the challenge. Together we took the audience to a Latin American Club populated by the characters of those stories, where their highly emotional lives were portrayed using all sorts of theatrical devices.
CYAC is North West England’s most exciting and respected young acting company, formed by a diverse group of young people aged 15 to 25 from across Greater Manchester. This next generation of emerging artists are encouraged to be forward thinking and innovative while working with the best of international, national and regional directors, producers and designers.
Dende Collective is a registered charity that produces original, inventive and distinctively Brazilian theatre here in the UK. Our work promotes and develops Anglo Brazilian collaborations as well as encouraging diversity and integration. In particular our work also complements educational programmes for young people. To help us continue producing such innovative shows please join our Dende Friends Scheme or talk to us about sponsorship opportunities.
