Unleash your creativity with The Wandsworth Masquerade 2025! Led by Dendê Collective and two experienced mask specialists, this joyful, free project invites Wandsworth residents aged 18+ and 60+ to take part in weekly mask-making and performance workshops.

Unleash your creativity with The Wandsworth Masquerade 2025! Led by Dendê Collective and two experienced mask specialists, this joyful, free project invites Wandsworth residents aged 18+ and 60+ to take part in weekly mask-making and performance workshops.

Together, we’ll create colourful papier-mâché masks, build bold characters, and celebrate through a joyful community street performance - part of Wandsworth Arts Fringe 2025.

  • Who: Wandsworth Residents aged 18+ and 60+

  • Where: Tooting Works, 89 Bickersteth Road, SW17 9SH

  • When: Thursdays and Fridays, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM

  • Dates: 1 May – 20 June 2025

  • Performance: Saturday 21st June 2025

What to Expect

Workshops are welcoming, relaxed, and drop-in friendly - you can come as often as you like!

You’ll get to:

  • Craft your own professional-standard papier-mâché mask

  • Develop a unique character and costume

  • Learn basic mask performance skills in a fun, accessible way

  • Take part in a vibrant public street performance (optional - mask-making only is also welcome!)

Whether you have experience or are completely new to theatre and arts, all you need is imagination and a willingness to play.

About Drama for Elders

Drama for Elders is part of Dendê Collective’s ongoing commitment to creative engagement with older adults. Sessions are free, fun, and designed to support wellbeing, self-expression, and friendship through the arts. Whether exploring pantomime, mask work, or clowning, each term brings a new creative focus.
